Breaking the cycle of poverty through the education of women

Roma Learning to Fly supports the education of Roma women who are active in their communities through the Katarina Laslofiova Memorial Scholarship Fund.

We believe that with education, the possibilities for Roma children and families are endless. Educating young Roma women, helps break the cycle of generational poverty by:

About the Katarina Laslofiova Memorial Scholarship Fund

Katarina Laslofiova (Katka) was born November 28, 1965 in Kosice, Slovakia. She was the loving wife to Igor Laslofi and mother to three children Matthew, Lenka and Katarina.

Katka accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in October 1990. Together, Igor and Katarina served the Lord in ministry until her passing on March 15, 2022.  She was known for finding the beauty in things wherever she went. Often this was displayed through gardening and decorating but she also had the ability to see and bring out the best in others.

She loved to serve people and was an advocate for the poor and marginalized. She was passionate about seeing the lives of Roma women and children improved. The Katarina Laslofiova Memorial Scholarship Fund will provide deserving students who share our commitment to improving the lives of Roma women and children, with financial support for post-secondary studies.
